Wish Upon a Star Blog Hop

Thanks to Carol of Just Let Me Quilt for organizing this amazing blog hop!
There are 44 blog hoppers participating in this 5 days event.

Welcome to my stop in the first day of this blog hop.

My first entry is one of my favorites, the Double Stars skinny designed by Barbara Brackman. This design is from the book All in a Row by Moda All-Stars (the first edition). It is 48" long and difficult to photograph, so my birch tree is the perfect quilt stand.

I machine pieced this quilt and hand quilted each little block through several quilt guild meetings and during other spare moments. Very relaxing hand work!

The long and skinny quilt hanging in my wintery apple tree.

The snow is long gone now, as I prepared this blog post some weeks ago before leaving for a trip.

The second entry is my newest table runner. This design is originally by Anne-Pia Godske Rasmussen, but the Norwegian designer AnnAKa made her own version. This is appropriate for winter and the time before Christmas.

I quilted the table runner with an all-over geometric design, with thread matching the background. The stars were also outlined with with white thread.

The quilting shows off well on the back of the runner.

Visit the other bloggers today to see their starry creations!

  21. Hi Anita,
Wonderful projects you shared with us today! And I especially love the setting you chose for your table runner in the birch tree - very clever. I often struggle with how to photograph those long, skinny items. It looks so cute wrapped around the tree trunk. I'll have to borrow that idea sometime! Happy Monday! ~smile~ Roseanne
