After seeing
this post at A Quilter's Table, I wanted to make a basket of my own. The
1 hour basket tutorial at KelbySews is easy to follow.
I used home decor weight fabric that I quilted with cotton batting, and used another home decor fabric for the lining. Cotton batting in the handles makes them sturdy.
The basket is roomy, and I can store lots of fat quarters in it, for instance.
A colorful first finish for May, indeed!
Her blir det orden på sakene. Denne ble så flott. Elsker å se andre stoffer enn de vanlige i bruk. Skulle kanskje ha sydd meg en selv for å samle alt som flyter rundt på sybordet.
ReplyDeleteLove your basket!! I found that same pattern and made one to hold my knitting work-in-progress project :D Can't wait to make more! Love your fabrics too!!

ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to jump on the bandwagon and make my own one-hour basket. Congratulations on your fabulous finish!
ReplyDeleteCute basket, I love it! Thanks for the link to the tutorial, I think I might try to make one this weekend or next week. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely basket - just one hour? Really? How brilliant! Thank you for the link. I'm going to make one tomorrow!
ReplyDeletepopped over and found the blog with this on, another project to add to the to do list I am sure it will take a lot longer than an hour for me though
ReplyDeleteThis is a really cute version. Glad to hear you can make it by quilting some batting rather than using the interfacing in the pattern. I had been wondering if that would work.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. Your bag looks great. And such a quick project. Visiting from FIUF.
ReplyDeleteOoh! Making one of these sounds tempting. Yours turned out wonderful. Lovely work!
ReplyDeleteLove your basket. Did it really finish up in an hour?
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful basket - definitely one I would love to make too. Thanks for sharing
