Lots of progress today!

Row #12 of Bee In My Bonnet Row Along is completed, and I really enjoyed making these cute, little baskets. Spring is on its way here, and my porch is free of snow, ready for display of the row.


The light is somewhat poor this time of year, and with the assistance of a close-up picture and flash the details are shown better. Here is the left half:

The rows are coming to an end in a few weeks, and I look forward to see the final order of the rows.

In addition, this week I got my Easy Street back from the quilter. She did a beautiful job, and I am very pleased with the result. Now I just have to start preparing the binding. This is a big quilt, approx. 100" x 100", and it will require a lot of binding. Here is a picture showing off the great quilting.

2013 Aurifil Designer of the Month

Here are the two first blocks of this DOM. I previously made a version of the January block in leftover fabrics from Easy Street, but I decided to change to a new color scheme.

Valentine's wallhanging

I did not make a new Valentine's quilt for this year, so the one from last year will have to do.


I made it for DH, and I did not put on a hanging sleeve for it before now. Valentine's Day is not a traditional holiday in Norway, but the stores and magazines are filling up with gadgets and advertisements for this day. DH does not want to celebrate tomorrow; I guess hanging up this quilt will be the only thing happening.

Row #11 finished

The eleventh row in Bee In My Bonnet Row Along is done, and we are getting closer to the finish line. Sorry about the picture, my fabric seems to need some more ironing before the quilt is done...

Fashion trend spreading!

Some of you may recall my earlier post this year from  San Antonio, Texas. Now this fashion trend has spread with the Gulf Stream way up north to Trondheim, Norway! This is what I spotted yesterday downtown:

The trees in Trondheim definitely need the woolen clothes more than the trees in San Antonio, because the temperature yesterday was a freezing -18 degrees Centigrade, or zero degrees Fahrenheit, if you prefer that scale.

I really think these trees are very trendy, and the models are tall and skinny, just like in the fashion industry!

I hope this trend will spread even more, there must be more cold trees out there in the world!

Mug Rugs for the swap

The two mug rugs for the swap (button on my sidebar) are now finished, all hand quilted. They will travel a long distance to my swap partner, I hope they will be appreciated.

It was fun to make these two little works of art!

Row #10 completed

Now I have caught up with the rows in Bee In My Bonnet Row Along, row number 10 is completed.

It was fun to sew these little houses, as it has been with all the other 9 rows this far. Now I just have to wait and see what Lori comes up with next!

Building houses

I have good progress in my house-building project in Bee In My Bonnet Row Along , by Lori Holt, row #10. I just love this Row Along!. Here are my houses (in poor indoor light):

Tomorrow I will sew them into their proper order in the row, and put on the borders. Then I will be finished with row #10, and up to date in the Row Along. The next row is posted this coming week, and I wonder what it will bring!?

I have started doing the appliqué for the first mug rug in the Mug Rug Swap, cute little owls! This one is still "blind", poor little one, but that will be fixed soon!

Lets see what I will be able to do during the weekend!
